Chavis Performance & Engineering (CPE) was founded by Tyler Chavis after extensive hands-on work with Porsche platforms and GM LS engines. The company exists to deliver reliable LS conversion solutions—because too many owners were stuck with repeated failures and frustration on certain factory powerplants.
An LS swap on a Porsche is not a novelty engine swap for its own sake. It is a full systems project: mounts and transaxle adaption, cooling, wiring and integration, clutch and flywheel hardware, and validation on the road and track. Tyler built CPE so owners could get engineering-first answers and hardware that holds up beyond a single dyno pull.
Over time, the shop became known in the Porsche community for high-quality LS conversions and engineering solutions—from turnkey builds in Baltimore, Maryland to precision parts shipped to DIY installers nationwide.
CPE runs two paths that share one engineering standard:
All CPE Parts Are Made in the U.S.A. Categories include Engine Mounting & Transaxle Adaption, Wiring & Integration, Clutch Kits & Flywheels, and Ancillaries—the same classes of hardware we trust when the application overlaps an in-house car.
CPE develops programs and hardware around water-cooled and select air-cooled Porsche chassis:
Scope varies by chassis. For model-year detail, transmission policy, pricing bands, and timelines, read the FAQ or start on the LS conversions & swaps hub.
Shop space in Baltimore, Maryland — where in-house builds, fabrication, and conversion hardware development share the same floor.
